Admission Process
At HVS, students are given admission based on their performance in the assessment test. It is important for the students and parents to understand the admission and selection policy of HVS.
- The students are considered for admission according to their age appropriateness for the grade of entry.
- Age criteria (as on the 1st April of the year of joining )are as follows:
Class IV : 8 – 9 years Class V : 9 – 10 years Class VI : 10 – 11 years Class VII : 11 – 12 years Class VIII : 12 – 13 years Class IX : 13 – 14 years Class XI : 16 – 17 years
Written Assessment and Interview Process
A written assessment and interviews are conducted to each student. The written examination is conducted in the following subjects:
- 1. Grade VI to Grade IX: English and Mathematics
- 2. Grade XI: for M.P.C Stream – Mathematics
- 3. Grade XI: for Bi.P.C Stream – Physics, Chemistry and Biology
Written test is followed by an interview after which parents will be notified about the eligibility of student for admission.
The syllabus for the written test is based on the syllabus studied by the student in his/her previous class. The question paper for the test is multiple choice based on the subjects mentioned above. Overseas students can have their assessment on online mode after which a Skype or telephonic interview will be conducted.
All applications are fairly and compassionately considered strictly based on merit. HVS preserves its integrity on its admission policy by not responding to any kind of pressure or representation from any quarter.
Fee Payment and Boarding Instructions
As soon as the parent is intimated about his/her son’s/daughter’s eligibility for admission, they have to pay the admission fees within a span of two days. Failure to do so will render the seat canceled and offered to the candidate next on the waiting list.
Security deposit, first term fee, and pocket money should be paid on or before the day of joining the school. Part payments are not allowed.
Students who have been granted admission have to collect their boarding slips on arrival on the first day of school from the front office. Students will not be permitted into the dorms without the boarding slip.
